The aim of the Midnight Sun Film Centre is to encourage and co-ordinate audiovisual production in Finnish Lapland. The Film Centre co-operates with national and international film and television productions as well as commercial films shot in the area.

The Midnight Sun Film Centre project has been in development since 2001, and the Film Centre itself was launched in 2005.

The Film Centre has already participated in various productions, for example the Finnish feature film Mosku, the TV series Pelkovaara and numerous TV commercials. The Film Centre in co-production with the University of Art and Design Helsinki’s Department of Film and Television has also produced the short film My Lapland. At the moment the Centre is involved in several productions, including the Finnish family feature Christmas Story (www.snapperfilms.com).
