The Lapland province is scarcely populated but the road network is better than that in Swedish or Norwegian Lapland, so traveling by car is easy. There are airports, for example, in Rovaniemi, Ivalo, Kemi, and Kittilä. You can take an overnight train from Helsinki and the train will go through Kemi to Rovaniemi and from there to Kemijärvi.
